The Authority Shift
Why your “30 years of experience” is your greatest asset—and how to package it.
The biggest hurdle for the Encore entrepreneur is often Imposter Syndrome.
You might think, “Who am I to sell a course? There are 25-year-olds on TikTok with a million followers doing this.”
Here is the truth: Those 25-year-olds have information. You have Wisdom. Information is cheap and everywhere.
Wisdom, the ability to apply knowledge to real-world chaos, is rare and expensive.
Moving from “Hour” to “Outcome”
To package your authority, you must stop selling your time. If you sell “an hour of coaching,” you are a commodity. If you sell a “transformation,” you are an authority.
How to Package Your Wisdom:
The Milestone Map: Take the problem you identified in “The Clarity Filter” article. What are the 4-5 “Milestones” a person must pass to go from “Stuck” to “Success”? Give each milestone a name. (e.g., The Wisdom Audit, The Lean Launch).
The Proven Framework: Don’t just “talk” to your clients. Walk them through your steps. This makes your coaching feel like a system rather than a chat.
The “Relatable Expert” Voice: Don’t try to sound like a textbook. Talk like a peer who is five miles further down the road. Share your failures as much as your successes. That’s what builds real authority.
Your 30 years of experience isn’t “old news”—it’s a shortcut for someone else. People aren’t paying for your time; they are paying to save their time by using your map.
